Soften the Shape of Your World

We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves otherwise we harden – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Today’s world has so many horrid things on offer we close our eyes to stop our tears and miss the worlds beauty. We harden ourselves in order to protect ourselves, but the world can’t be helped by hardness. Hardness can slip in without you even realizing. It masquerades as judgement, being too practical, unforgiving and huffing and puffing about the smallest of matters rather than laughing at them.  We feel helpless not knowing where to start, so we do nothing. Sometimes just changing our mind can be enough.  As Mother Theresa  said   “We cannot do great things in this world. We can only do little things with great love.

“I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, wracked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.”
– Agatha Christie

Nature is a great softener

(Rainer Maria Rilke)

The hour is striking so close above me,
so clear and sharp,
that all my senses ring with it.
I feel it now: there’s a power in me
to grasp and give shape to my world.
I know that nothing has ever been real
without my beholding it.
All becoming has needed me.
My looking ripens things
and they come toward me, to meet and be met.
