Jazzy Joy

“Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked  two questions and their answers would determine whether they could  continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, “Did  you bring joy?” The second was, “Did you find joy?'”
Leo Buscaglia

Joy definition – a great pleasure, something causing delight.

Joy can be the perfect yummy cookie or a smile from a stranger.

Give or get one of those today.

Create a joy journal which is really an awareness balance book, but joy journal sounds jollier.  At  the end of each day, on one side, write what joy you gave,  on the other what joy you found.  You can keep it simple or elaborate.

It seems mundane, but the actual doing of it makes a huge shift in your awareness.  Which page is fuller? It may change your perspective of giving and receiving joy. You don’t have to do anything earthshaking to bring joy into people’s lives, you just have to be present, do a bit of improv, think jazz rhythm .  Somedays one side will be fuller, did that make for a better day? or is a balanced day better?

Joy peeks around corners, keep your eyes and ears open.  Offering it to others increases the chance of seeing or hearing it.

The bonus in keeping a jazzy joy journal is you’ll have it all in writing when you’re asked at death.
